John Curtis

Team leader of BritCan Media

John has more than 30 years of experience in production, financing, sales and distribution of filmed and TV content. With over 75 credits to his name and over US $100MM in production and sales over his career, John will focus on the many business aspects of a growing company. This ensures, efficiency, accountability and profitability of the company’s slate of films and TV shows.

Matthew Archer

Director / EIS Specialist / Senior Creative Development Executive

With 30 years in the film and TV business, his joint degree in Film and Mathematics allows him to bring a highly analytical approach to development and production.
Matthew gained credible recognition within the London offices of Columbia Tristar, Miramax and 20th Century Fox, with one Studio describing the company’s slate as “The best selection of projects we have seen from a company we have never heard of”.

Susannah d’Arcy Producer's Guild of America

Global Operations Manager

Susannah will focus her efforts on the continuous growth strategy of the company seeking out strategic partners, creative opportunities and cementing relationships with many of the LA based film community. Having worked on a multitude of films, TV shows and special events Susannah’s, “hands on” experience in all aspects of film production, will facilitate the most efficient methods of production from inception to delivery.

Rob Straight

Director of Distribution,

Rob is a highly reputed Senior Executive with more than 40 years of success spanning media, film and TV, leveraging extensive experience in strategic leadership for sales-focused organizations. Rob brings this vast experience to BritCan gathered from Vestron, CBC and Horizon Motion Pictures. Associated in various capacities with films such as Dirty Dancing, Michael Jackson’s Thriller and dozens of other films/TV for the SyFy and Lifetime. Rob will focus his energies on acquisition and distribution.

Phil Taylor


Phil Taylor has helped finance over £100 million for British films. He has extensive experience in tax and fund raising and was involved in numerous large film projects including ‘Alexander’ with Colin Farrell and Roman Polanski's ‘Oliver Twist’. Phil joins BritCan bringing his financial expertise as well as his creative production talents. Phil will be focused initially on corporate finance, EIS investments and debt financing in conjunction with his duties as Investor Relations, for UK and Europe.

Lloyd Simandl

Film Executive

Lloyd is a film executive with vast experience providing production services to many companies over the last 30 years. In 1994, Lloyd retrofitted and created a full service 40,000 Sqft (4,500sqM) production studio to service international Producers. The recently acquired and renamed BritCan Film Studios will have Lloyd’s full focus providing complete production services in the CZ Republic. Lloyd is fully fluent in English and Czech and understands the “inner workings” of the CZ film industry. This insight is extremely important when dealing in the CZ.

Brian Skiba

Founder Skibavision

Brian brings his tremendous creative track record under the BritCan umbrella. Brian has directed a significant number of films for Netflix, Lifetime,Grindstone/ LionsGate, and now ITunes and will bring these skills to creating product under the BritCan/Skibavision Network production agreement. His focus will be on highly commercial, creatively edgy films that meet and exceed market demands. His ability to maximize production value will only enhance the films produced. Brian will work with BritCan’s creative team to refine a slate of films for the international and domestic markets.

Neil Bermel

Creative Director

Neil Bermel has worked in the film industry for the last thirty years as a writer, director, and Producer, on feature films such as "Stag", starring Kevin Dillon and Andrew McCarthy, an HBO premiere, "The Invitation” starring Lance Henriksen and “11:11 THE GATE”. Neil has also written over thirty feature film and television scripts, including Ripper I and II. Neil is currently developing "Arena - The Legacy of Spartacus" BritCan’s first TV series

Dr. Charles Garrison

Investor Relations (N. American)/ Consultant

Dr. Garrison joins BritCan as a valuable consultant in a number of capacities. As a highly accomplished pathologist, Dr. Garrison will direct BritCan’s COVID 19 response team. His expertise and direction will ensure that all BritCan productions and facilities follow the latest COVID protocols, keeping cast and crew as safe as possible. Dr. Garrison will also serve as an Investor relations consultant utilizing his years as an Angel investor and a member of the Keiretsu Forum. His focus will centre on creating solid investment structures and platforms for BritCan Media.

Laurie Love

Founder/Creative Director Skibavision

Laurie is an accomplished writer and producer and works exclusively with Skibavision as its Creative Director. Laurie will work with BritCan to ensure a consistent vision of commercially driven films for which she has gained her reputation. As another source of IP Laurie will focus her efforts on finding, developing and preparing content for production under the BritCan Media/Skibavison Network agreement.



Working since 1977 in the Australian film industry, first with Burrowes Film Group, known for THE MAN FROM SNOWY RIVER, Crawfords as its CEO and then Hallmark as its, Australian representative. His experience at the highest levels of production and distribution will be a welcomed addition to BritCan team. John is known for films such as THE DRESSMAKER, THE MENKOFF METHOD, PAWNO, BOYS IN THE TREES, ALI’s WEDDING, CARGO and NEVER TOO LATE. John’s focus will be as an Executive Producer and securing Australian distribution for BritCan/Kintyre’s upcoming co-pro TV series, ULTIMATE.



Born and raised in Australia, Shannon spent close to twenty years in Canada where he ran a visual effects and animation company. Shannon recently took a few years hiatus from the entertainment field to focus on other business endeavours but has now returned as the co-creator of the BritCan/Kintyre co-production of the ULTAMATE TV series. Shannon will focus on the creative while working on the series under an AUS/UK/CND co-production structure.

Tasha Rennie

digital communications specialist

With over eight years experience working in the non-profit, publishing and entertainment sectors. Tasha has held a number of roles involving strategic communications planning and social media management, as well as experience with web and graphic design, content development, copyediting, and email marketing. This experience will be used to further BritCan’s production and distribution activities ensuring that the latest techniques are used to increase our profile and our presence on social media.

Sandrine Brunet

International Relations

French born, Sandrine has international experience in sales and personnel management, attending film markets over many years. Her knowledge of both production as an accomplished production designer and sales/marketing executive, gives her a unique view of both production and distribution issues as it relates to sales and marketing. She will focus her energies on making sure productions are ready for distribution and has the creative elements sought after in the international marketplace. International Co-productions fall under her expertise.

Sharon Christensen

Responsible for the day to day operation of BritCan Film Studios

As she has done so for the last dozen years. As a Cast, Crew and Producer liaison for BCFS she is often involved in many aspects of production coordination between producers and the studio facility ensuring a seamless melding of the creative with the physical requirements of the production, in relation to the studio.

BritCan Network Companies include:

Horizon Motion Pictures is the distribution arm for BritCan Media and will be responsible for all distribution activities of BritCan produced product. HMP has been in the business of distribution for more than 15 years and attends all major film markets and events.

FMA Media is a feature film and TV development company and works with BritCan to bring the latest in creative concepts and projects to the company. FMA not only creates IP under the direction of BritCan but also provides services to BritCan to assess and revise any third party acquisitions to ensure quality, creativity and consistency.

Is an Australian based production company, developing and producing film and TV content for the local and international marketplace. Based in Melbourne, the principals Shannon Walker and John Kearney have years of experience working at the highest levels of the local industry. BritCan and Kintyre have signed a production agreement for the co-developed ULTIMATE TV series and gives BritCan access to, on the ground production services, in Australia.

H3O Films is a production services company based in Canada and provides on the ground services to BritCan Media.

This 50,000 Sqft (5,000 SqM) facility offers full facilities, including water tank, 4 stages, production offices and back lot.
