John has more than 30 years of experience in production, financing, sales and distribution of filmed and TV content. With over 75 credits to his name and over US $150MM in production and sales over his career,
John will focus on the many business aspects of a growing company. This ensures, efficiency, accountability and profitability of the company’s slate of films and TV shows.
Rob Straight
Senior Executive
Rob a highly reputed senior executive with more than 40 years of success spanning media, film and TV, leveraging extensive experience in strategic leadership for sales-focused organizations.
Rob brings this vast experience to BritCan gathered from Vestron, CBC and Horizon Motion Pictures. Associated in various capacities with films such as Dirty Dancing, Michael Jackson’s Thriller and dozens of other films & TV for Syfy and Lifetime. Rob will focus his energies on distribution.
SHANNON WALKER
Head of International Production
Born and raised in Australia, Shannon spent close to twenty years in Canada where he ran a visual effects and animation company. Shannon recently took a few years hiatus from the entertainment field to focus on other business endeavours but has now returned as the co-creator of the BritCan/Kintyre co-production of the ULTIMATE TV series. Shannon will focus on the creative while working on the series under an AUS/UK/CND co-production structure.
Shannon will of course first focus on investor relations for all investors worldwide ensuring the latest updates and information are always available
Lloyd Simandl
Film Executive
Lloyd is a film executive with vast experience providing production services to many companies over the last 30 years. In 1994, Lloyd retrofitted and created a full service 40,000 Sqft (4,500sqM) production studio to service international Producers.
The recently acquired and renamed BritCan Film Studios will have Lloyd’s full focus providing complete production services in the CZ Republic. Lloyd is fully fluent in English and Czech and understands the “inner workings” of the CZ film industry. This insight is extremely important when dealing in the CZ.
BRIAN SKIBA
Founder Skibavision
Brian brings his tremendous creative track record under the BritCan umbrella. Brian has directed a significant number of films for Netflix, Lifetime,Grindstone/ LionsGate, and now ITunes and will bring these skills to creating product under the BritCan/Skibavision Network production agreement.
His focus will be on highly commercial, creatively edgy films that meet and exceed market demands. His ability to maximize production value will only enhance the films produced. Brian will work with BritCan’s creative team to refine a slate of films for the international and domestic markets.
Sharon Christianson
Sharon is responsible for the day to operation of BritCan Film Studios as she has done so for the last
dozen years.
As a Cast, Crew and Producer liaison for BCFS she is often involved in many aspects of
production coordination between producers and the studio facility ensuring a seamless melding of the
creative with the physical requirements of the production, in relation to the studio.
Jonathan Thompson
SVP Production Finance
Jonathan Thompson is a Producer and Director hailing from the UK.
With his over 20+ years in film and tv, including directing hit musicals like The Phantom of the Opera, Sweeny Todd, and Beauty and the Beast at venues such as England’s legendary Royal Albert Hall, Jonathan will use his knowledge of the business, to focus on production finance for BritCan Media. His talents also will be utilized in his desire to mentor other new film makers in the art of the business.

Working since 1977 in the Australian film industry, first with Burrowes Film Group, known for THE MAN FROM SNOWY RIVER, Crawfords as its CEO and then Hallmark as its, Australian representative. His experience at the highest levels of production and distribution will be a welcomed addition to BritCan team. John is known for films such as THE DRESSMAKER,
THE MENKOFF METHOD, PAWNO, BOYS IN THE TREES, ALI’s WEDDING, CARGO and NEVER TOO LATE. John’s focus will be as an Executive Producer and securing Australian distribution for BritCan/Kintyre’s upcoming co-pro TV series, ULTIMATE.
Heather M. Porter
Corporate Coordinator
Heather brings her extensive production experience and focus on the logical side production to organize a smooth workflow for all aspects of BritCan Media.
An accomplished line producer and coordinating producer, a member of the Producers Guild and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Heather has produced over 200 hours of television and worked on numerous projects across genres. Working from development through delivery she strived to bring her productions in on time and on budget
Sandrine Brunet
Chief Financial Officer
Sandrine has been responsible for all financial transactions for a number of very large international organizations and brings that wealth of experience, procedures and information along with her extensive understanding of the film business, to BritCan.
Sandrine will focus on fiscal responsibility and accountability which are key factors in running an international production and distribution organization. Sandrine is fluent in three languages and has a master’s degree from the Sorbonne in France.
Laurie Love
Founder/Creative Director Skibavision
Laurie is an accomplished writer and producer and works exclusively with Skibavision as its Creative Director. Laurie will work with BritCan to ensure a consistent vision of commercially driven films for which she has gained her reputation.
As another source of IP Laurie will focus her efforts on finding, developing and preparing content for production under the BritCan Media/Skibavison Network agreement.
DR. CHARLES GARRISON
Investor Relations Consultant (NAM)
Dr. Garrison joins BritCan as a valuable consultant in a number of capacities. As a highly accomplished pathologist, Dr. Garrison will direct BritCan’s COVID 19 response team. His expertise and direction will ensure that all BritCan productions and facilities follow the latest COVID protocols, keeping cast and crew as safe as possible.
Dr. Garrison will also serve as an Investor relations consultant utilizing his years as an Angel investor and a member of the Keiretsu Forum. His focus will centre on creating solid investment structures and platforms for BritCan Media.
Arati Misro
Business Strategy & Production Operations
Arati has a unique perspective to filmmaking and the entertainment arena.
This is based on her experience with tech start-ups, product sales and her production experience in the indie film and TV industry in Los Angeles, Europe and India. Arati brings strategy and execution on market adoption with new technologies, and disruptive business practices through a multi-faceted background in production, theatrical distribution and sales along with, business analysis and operations. Arati will be focusing her time on seeking and defining new production practises and assisting in financing those productions.
James Thom
Executive Producer
Jim is once again reunited with BritCan’s Team leader, John Curtis.
Jim brings both investment and
production expertise to the company and will work on the creative of a number of projects as well as equity financing. Jim has Co-produced a number of films and brings a creative edge centering around
casting and its relationship, to the marketplace. Jim will focus his efforts initially on the development of
newly acquired feature film property, with significant profile.
